The other day, someone replied to one of my tweets… (About email marketing).
We got into a discussion and ultimately they asked “What’s the secret to being awesome?”
To which I replied “Care about your subscribers; put them first, and be yourself. If you be yourself, you’ll attract people just like you. :)”
So in this way, awesomeness is really just a metaphorical perspective upon which you give a damn about your readers, and just be yourself.
If you can do that? Then let the cards fall where they may.
The problem, is that I hate Twitter for only allowing me 140 characters, and wanted to elaborate more on that idea here.
(You can follow me on Twitter here by the way, do it!).
The Secret To Being Awesome
This is something I talk about at length in pretty much all of my work, but the secret to being awesome is just being yourself.
I know, you might think “Mike how cliche of you!” – but the reality is that this idea works so solidly and perfectly.
When you’re being yourself, you attract people who are just like you.
Not only that, but everything you ever write, be it an email or a blog, or book, or even a presentation will be so easy and fun to write.
Take This For Example, I’m Having Fun Writing This!
Experience dictates that a lot of people try too hard to be someone who they’re not.
That’s why they have writer’s block. Because they try too hard when it comes time to write content.
So, writing content becomes a chore, instead of a fun exercise.
That’s The Secret To Being Awesome To All Of Your Subscribers, Fans And Readers
Just be yourself.
If people don’t like your content when you act this way?
Then heck, they were never destined to be your readers anyway.
