Promoting Your Small Business Can Be Frustrating! This Might Help. 🙂
More and more the cost of advertising is going up, which leads tiny entrepreneurs like us to our ultimate doom when trying to promote oneself (lol).
Meanwhile, the massive companies of the world keep dominating more and more ad space, hogging more and more social media space, and their email lists and end user base are growing so large that there’s less room for tiny startups to get noticed.
Not to mention that all of the cool domain names are taken. 🙁
How are we, the small one-team entrepreneurs to be heard in the world dominated by heavy hitting corporations with seemingly infinite marketing budgets?
And these massive behemoths aren’t your only competition. Nope.
Because there are also so many other entrepreneurs in the world these days. It seems that everyone has a side hustle and arguably every niche is crowded to the top with competition.
How are we supposed to build our brands, get our content out to the world, share our courses and books, when the cost of advertising is spiraling out of control, and when competition is so fierce?
First Of All, Look On This Extraordinarily Bright Side…
You can start an amazingly beautiful blog these days without writing a single line of code, and without shelling thousands of dollars on a cranky cantankerous copywriter or design expert.
Why is this so powerful, and different from the not so distant past?
Because while the cost of advertising in my opinion will continually increase, one thing that will decrease is the work required to publish amazing content.
Back when I was in High School, in my AV club (yes, I’m an old school nerd lol, deal with it) publishing online content was a massive chore.
You had to be an Adobe Photoshop and an HTML guru in order to publish even the simplest of content, and it wasn’t even dynamic content unless you were skilled (and epically elite) with programming.
In fact, the content back then, before WordPress and modern page builders was relatively static.
In other words, if you wanted to update your content, create new posts, or create content that was actually possible to interact with, it would either cost you a small fortune, or a lifetime of tinkering and education.
That’s Why Today Content Marketers And Entrepreneurs Have A Ridiculous Advantage
It’s true that competition has never been this fierce, but the good news is that your potential has never been this immense.
Seriously.
Just with WordPress you can publish content every single day of the week if you want to.
And you don’t have to be super advanced with tech to start publishing awesome content regularly, heck it’s super easy to accomplish every day if you want to.
You can then share your content on your different social media channels.
You could turn that same content into Podcast or video content if you wanted to.
You’re only limited by your inspiration, and your motivation to create awesome content that can help your end user demographic.
But you’re not really limited that much by your budget, as long as you yourself are willing to create awesome content.
To top it all off you can start email marketing for absolutely zero cost these days, giving you access to technology for FREE that would have cost a small fortune a decade (or two) ago.
You Can Get Your Word Out To The World, All You Have To Do Is Have The Courage To Publish Beautiful Content
Having the courage to publish your content takes more courage than most people realize.
However, one thing is absolutely certain; that one thing is that you’ve never had this much potential.
Your small business, your tiny email newsletter, and your amazing books and courses could literally change the world.
The first step, is to brainstorm all of the amazing content that you want to create.
Spend some time brainstorming who your ideal prospect is, who you want to help, and how you can serve your market.
How can you help them? What are the top frustrations and questions they continually face?
After brainstorming this process, I’m so confident, that you’ll have a never ending list of content ideas that are super powerful and practical.
Put this powerful exercise to use, so you can better endeavor to create a mountainous horde of content designed to help your end users.
If your content is helpful, inspiring, or valuable in any other way, then you’ll have much more fun creating it, and hopefully your end users will appreciate it that much more.
Once Your Content Is Published On Your Blog, Share It With The World!
Share your content on Twitter, on Facebook, on Pinterest, on Tumblr, WordPress, and anywhere else that you can.
Have the confidence to create awesome YouTube videos and Podcasts that are derived from your content.
This way, even we, the tiny one-person entrepreneur, will be empowered to at the very least, share our message with those who are most likely to benefit from it.
And what’s the worst that happens?
Maybe our content never gets noticed, and never gets consumed.
But, at the very least, we’ll be doing that one exercise that all small entrepreneurs should aspire to.
Which is, of course, creating value in our marketplace, one piece of high quality content at a time.
Thank you so much for checking this out, and please have an amazing day.
Thank You So Much For Checking This Out!
The idea of repurposing content is so powerful. If you have a powerful message to share with the world, why would you stop at one format, and one platform?
One thing that I’m trying more and more to do is repurpose my content everywhere and publishing it on more platforms.
Because these days, the number of large social networks and publishing websites is growing to the point where there are so many cool places where you can publish your content.
Tumblr, WordPress.com, WordPress.org, Quora, Steemit, Blogger and Medium are just a handful of blogging platforms that are really cool and you can begin publishing either for free, or very low cost using any of those platforms.
Arguably the coolest thing about having blog content, is that you can then turn that blog content into Podcasts and Video content.
I think those are two of the most powerful things you can do to multiply the exposure you get from your blog posts.
Because if you’re already blogging, then you may as well transform that content into Podcast content. You can then submit your Podcast into all of the large Podcast directories (such as iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn, and Spotify).
Your content then has arguably much more exposure, because now you’re opening your content into a while new audience.
This is so important for small entrepreneurs like us, because we don’t have the million-dollar-budgets or the entire staff of writers to constantly create new content.
You could then take that Podcast, turn it into a video, and publish it on YouTube to get even more traction from your content.
In any event, I’ve ranted for far too long, however, I do hope that you had fun reading this humble document.
If you ever have any questions, or simply want to brainstorm, then please never hesitate to contact me.
I’ve got your back and as always I hope to hear your feedback about this content, because it helps me a great deal!

Cordially and humbly yours…
