I’ve been researching and developing copywriting methods like my life was on the line for many years.
I’m not saying that to brag or anything. In fact, my copywriting stories are all drab, miserable, and embarrassing ones.
I’ll talk to you in a minute about how one of the first sales letters I ever wrote was an embarrassing mess, and also how I handled my first product getting pirated and leeched.
But first, I just wanted to mention that so many of my end users have been frustrated about all of the tech stuff that is required if you want to launch amazing-looking marketing creatives.
Maybe they want to start writing amazing sales letters, video sales letters, or lead capture pages but the technical hurdles have prevented them from doing so.
Well, in the following document, I’m going to reveal the best copywriting strategies that I’ve ever deployed after publishing many-dozens of sales letters, and countless-thousands of marketing emails.

Let Me Tell You A Quick Story About The Time One Of My Products Got Leeched By A Popular Pirating Website.
I published one of my first digital products, which was just a tiny e-book.
I found out through a Google search, that my book had been leeched and shared by a popular pirating website.
The website had a ton of people downloading my product, without paying me, and I remember that people also commenting on my lousy sales letter.
I remember specifically that one person said that I would have sold more copies if my sales writing didn’t suck. (Paraphrasing).
At that point, I totally panicked.
People are downloading my product without my permission, and they were also making fun of my sales copy! Lol.
This Experience Was Super Frustrating. Ever Since That Time, I’ve Devoted Much Of My Time Trying To Improve My Copywriting.
Before I talk about how I improved my sales copywriting, let me quickly tell you that I was super stressed out that people were leeching my e-book.
These days, I don’t care if people leech my products as much, because I’m more clever and have some tricks up my sleeve to benefit even if my products do get pirated (lol).
Because I’ve since discovered that there are some super clever ways to brand myself and my products, should they ever get leeched again.
I also learned, that if someone wants to leech your digital product, there’s nothing you can do to stop them.
Sure, it’s possible to make it more difficult, but I figured, why not make the best of the situation?
Think of it this way. The largest companies on the planet get their content pirated even though they have the best tech and legal staffs anywhere.
I personally realized, that it would be nearly impossible for me to put an end to this.
So, from then on, I decided that I would always brand myself heavily throughout the course content, and also include a lecture at the end of the course that promotes one of my lead capture pages.
That way, even if people stole and pirated my content, maybe, at least some of those people would end up checking out my blog at least, lol.
(Just a note: It’s super easy to protect your digital products using ClickFunnels by the way. You can easily create a password protected member’s area for buyers only so only buyers get access to your products. This won’t guarantee that your product is safe of course, however, it will in my opinion statistically reduce the number of pirates stealing your content, and it will also be an awesome security feature for your end users).
Here Is The Most Important Copywriting Strategy That I’ve Ever Learned.
It can truly hurt your feelings if you see other people BASHING your life’s work.
That’s what happened when I saw others making fun of my sales copy.
I realized that yes, my sales copy did suck.
So, I started to practice, split test, and study as much as I could about how to write awesome sales copy.
If there’s one lesson that I must convey to you, it’s this; know your end user, better than anyone else.
- Know exactly what frustrations they have
- Know what questions they ask over and over again on websites like Quora.com
- Know exactly what goals they have
If you know the answers to these questions, then you’re going to be in a much better position to brainstorm awesome content for your audience.
Because, if you know the frustrations and needs of your marketplace, you’ll have infinite quantities of creativity when brainstorming solutions, content ideas, lead magnet ideas, product ideas, course ideas, and book ideas.
To be honest, this is super simple, obvious, marketing 101 stuff.
But, as someone who knew absolutely nothing about marketing or advertising when I started publishing content, these insight literally changed my life.
You might be wondering how you can accomplish this. How the heck can you learn about your end users, to the point where writing for them, or creating content for them, is super easy?
One of the best ways, is to ask your audience questions directly. Spend time with them; get to know them.
You’ve probably noticed that in every email I ever send, I invite you to REPLY and ask questions and brainstorm.
Asking Your End Users Directly What Frustrations They Have Is A Genius Copywriting Tactic.
The intelligence and data I’ve received over the years with this one tactic has been unfathomable. I’ve received literal novels bestowed from my audience with their trials, tribulations, frustrations, and horrors.
One common (and devastating) problem I always hear about, is how frustrating it can be to write sales copy that converts.
Maybe you’ve sat down at your desk to write sales letters, webinar funnels, or upsell pages, but even after hours nothing ever comes?
If that’s the case, then the best advice I can give you is to spend time asking your audience questions.
If you don’t have an audience yet, then check out a website called Quora.com where you can read questions that people are asking.
Study And Learn The Questions That Your Prospects Ask Over And Over Again
Never stop asking yourself the following:
What’s the top 10 frustrations that my end users have?
What are the top 10 questions that those in my market continually ask, over and over again?
How can I help them?
If you study these questions enough, then you’re going to have a superior understanding of what types of content your audience needs.
With this understanding, you shall inherit an unshakable command of the desires and frustrations of your audience, allowing you to write content that speaks to them directly.
