Pinterest is quickly becoming one of my favorite social media networks!
Actually, on second thought, Pinterest isn’t really a social media network, and I believe they’re trying more and more to be an “image search engine” lol, which is totally cool in my book.
In any event, Pinterest is one of the most popular websites on the planet; as of today, Alexa.com reports that Pinterest is the 80th most popular website on the planet, and the 31st most popular in the USA.
So, clearly promoting your ClickFunnels funnel (or any other funnel) on Pinterest can be a genius strategy.
How To Generate Traffic On Pinterest And Use It To Build Your Email List
If you want to use Pinterest as a method to build your email list, then always remember that you can’t really promote your lead magnet directly.
So, the much better, and wiser thing to do, from a strategic perspective, is to create awesome blog content that promotes your lead magnets indirectly.
That way, you can focus on creating awesome content, and then you can promote those blog posts on Pinterest consistently and reliably – while at the same time promoting your lead magnets indirectly.
This Involves Optimizing Your Blog For Lead Generation!
Before you begin creating awesome Pinterest graphics in an effort to promote your blog, it’s important to optimize your blog for lead generation.
So let’s pretend that you have an awesome ClickFunnels lead capture page, a webinar registration page, or even an affiliate bridge funnel and your main goal is to promote those.
Because if you notice on this blog, I’m prominently promoting my lead capture pages everywhere!
- I promote my lead capture page with a massive “welcome bar” at the very top of the blog.
- I promote my lead capture page at the end of every post, in the “footer” area.
- I promote my lead capture page in my navigational menu.
- I even have a special widget at the front of the blog that promotes my lead capture page.
How To Promote Your Lead Capture Page Via An Exit Intent Popup
You can easily use services such as AddThis.com in order to promote your lead capture page in an exit intent popup, so that everyone who ever visits your website will see an (non-invasive) popup that can easily be made to promote your lead capture page.
This way, you can literally ensure that every single blog post that you ever write is triggered and ready to promote your lead capture page. Voila!
Now, it comes time to work on our Pinterest marketing strategy, so that we can use the awesome platform to generate leads.
How To Create Awesome Images To Share On Pinterest
As you know, Pinterest is an image search engine, meaning that if you want to promote your blog posts on Pinterest, you’ll need to create awesome graphics, and then insert those graphics in your blog posts.
If you’re skilled with using Adobe Photoshop, then there are so many awesome ways that you can create cool images that help promote your blog post.
One pro tip that I can give you, is that the majority of popular Pinterest Group Boards (more on this in a second) are rectangular and vertical in nature; meaning that “square” images aren’t as popular as “vertical” images.
I’m not sure why this is the case, other than the fact that they seem to look cool (lol), but if you want to use Pinterest to generate leads, definitely consider making your images vertical!
If you’re not very good with Photoshop, then you can always use free graphic services such as Canva.com to create really awesome graphics.
The cool part is that Canva.com is 100% free, so you won’t have to pay a single red cent to create awesome graphics, and there are tons of free templates that you can use.
How To Find Beautiful Royalty Free Graphics For Your Blog Images
Another important tip I want to give, is to always use “Creative Commons Zero” images (also known as CC0). If you’re not familiar with the CC0 license, it basically means that this is the most lenient license allowable by law.
In other words, you can use these images for just about any legal use, whether personal or commercial, without paying a single red cent, and you don’t even have to give attribution if you don’t want to.
Personally, I’m a huge fan of PixaBay.com, and if you’ve ever taken any of my online courses, or have seen any of my presentations, then remember that every single one of my images is a product of PixaBay.com!
They have countless images that you can use, and the vast majority of them are absolutely beautiful.
Behold The Immense Power Of Pinterest Group Boards!
Now that you’ve created an awesome blog post, and have a beautiful image ready to share, it’s time to start promoting your blog post on Pinterest!
There are so many awesome ways you can do this, but my absolute favorite way is to promote the post within Pinterest Group Boards.
A Pinterest Group Board already has a built in audience, and is a great way to get some extra eyeballs on your content.
The cool part is that there are Pinterest Group Boards on just about any topic, so you don’t necessarily have to be in the “marketing” niche in order to get some traction lol.
One note about Pinterest Group Boards, is that all of them have their own little rules, so you want to read the description in order to learn more about the ecology of the board, and also for instructions on how to join.
Should You Create Your Own Pinterest Group Board? My Honest Two Cents…
Creating a Pinterest Group Board has been one of the wisest things I’ve ever done from a social media perspective.
This allows me to have leverage, because now suddenly, people are always asking me to contribute to my group board, and as of this date my board has many tens of thousands of awesome pins from bloggers hailing from every corner of the planet.
If you’re curious to learn more about my group board by the way, feel free to click here.
In any event, I absolutely recommend that you create your own group board, because it can be an awesome way to put yourself in a position of authority almost immediately.
Another thing you’ll want to do, is start inviting OTHER popular Pinterest users to your board.
When I first started my group board, I spent a few days tracking down some of the most popular Pinterest users in my niche, so that I could invite them to the board.
Not everyone joined of course, if I had to guess, I would say roughly 20% of the people who I invited actually joined lol.
But don’t worry, because you can easily “un-invite” those who don’t join after 24 hours or so, so you won’t be annoying people who don’t want to join.
To Summarize How To Generate Leads With Pinterest…
My own personal philosophy is that promoting your lead magnet and your lead capture page over and over again is a lame strategy (lol).
Much better, is to strategically optimize your blog to generate leads, and then create awesome blog content.
That way, you could create new blog content every single day if you wanted to.
So maybe you could create a new blog post every single day, and then promote that blog on Pinterest.
This is far superior to simply promoting your lead magnet directly, because you’ll be providing massive value, and you won’t be promoting the same thing over and over again.
The best part, is that you can then promote your blog content on OTHER social media platforms also.
So you can promote your new blog content on Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Instagram, and every other social media platform that you like.
And, I bet, if you focus on creating awesome content, that Google, Bing, and Yahoo will notice that you’re creating helpful, deep, and powerful content.
