Have you ever been frustrated because you want to write awesome marketing emails that entertain, help, and entice your email subscribers want to buy your stuff?
Maybe you realize the power of email marketing, but you’re secretly depressed because you’re unable to properly wield it to its fullest potential?
If that’s the case, then I totally understand where you’re coming from.
That’s why I’d like to share some of the most important email copywriting strategies and tactics that I’ve ever learned.
The First Thing You Need To Write Amazing Marketing Emails In Virtually Any Niche
Before you begin crafting and deploying amazing marketing emails to your audience, the first thing you’re going to need, is an awesome email list building funnel.
An email list building funnel is going to allow you to generate email leads, and to better interact with your leads.
A marketing funnel consists of a lead magnet, a lead capture page, a thank you page, a download page, and maybe even some webinar pages or membership pages.
These are the pages that will allow you to generate leads, followup with leads, share your content, and also sell your products and services.
If all of this sounds frustrating, then just remember that there are so many marketing tools you can use these days to design awesome creatives.
One of my personal favorites is obviously ClickFunnels, because they make it super easy to create awesome marketing pages without knowing a single line of code.
Once You Have An Email Marketing Funnel, It’s Time To Consider Your Long-term Followup Strategy!
Nevertheless, once you have an awesome lead capture page setup, and are driving website traffic to your email funnels, you’re going to need to write some cool marketing emails, right?
So how are you going to provide value to your subscribers?
Are you going to host marketing webinars? Are you going to give away free courses, e-books, or maybe free newsletters?
Well, the following document contains my humble two cents regarding how to write amazing emails, that aren’t spammy, pushy, aggressive, or even salesely.
This is my humble two cents after writing a ton of emails over the years.
Please enjoy!
First Of All, Relax! Because I Have Great News That’s Going To Eliminate Any Email Writing Fears That You May Have.
That news is this – people join your email list, because they want to know more about you.
They like you. They like your business. They want to know more about what services you offer. They need you!
They subscribed to get something more out of you.
So, they literally want to hear more from you.
Hopefully you have some cool followup ideas in mind, so that you can entertain, help, and satisfy the demands of your end users (aka, your awesome subscribers).
This one little mentality can help shed any fears and doubts that that you may have, and make it much easier to unlock your creativity. So always remember that you’re wanted, appreciated, and in-demand.
So, you OWE IT to your subscribers to give them awesome content, because they literally subscribed to hear more about you, your ideas, your services, and your business.
What If You’re Already Super Motivated To Write Awesome Emails, But You’re Just Not Sure What Type Of Content To Write About?
If that’s the case then remember that there are a million ways to write an email, but there’s only one thing that really matters.
And that one thing, is to make your emails valuable. Make sure that your emails are worthwhile. You owe this to your subscribers.
Because, if someone sends you LAME emails that absolutely suck, what’s your first impression?
You look for the “unsubscribe” button, right?
Well, you want your audience to do the opposite!
The best way to accomplish that, in my opinion, is by creating awesome content that’s specifically designed to help, or entertain, your subscribers.
There Are So Many Different Ways You Can Accomplish That By The Way.
One thing that I personally love to do, is create content that helps me audience.
So every once in a while I’ll send my subscribers an awesome tutorial, newsletter, free course, free book, or something of tremendous value.
I even spend a lot of time making the presentation look fancy.
Maybe I’ll create tutorial on how they can build a blog, how to write an email, or maybe even share an awesome blog post like the one I’m writing now?
My advice is to ask your end users what problems they’re having related to your niche, so that you can plan awesome content that’s going to be valuable to them.
Going Forward, Make A Promise To Yourself. Promise To Make Your Emails Valuable In Any Way That You Can.
Maybe you just promise that you’ll have the best customer support on the planet.
Or maybe you promise to give everything your all and to share some of your best-kept-secrets. Maybe you promise to stay true to yourself, and always be 100% honest
with your subscribers.
Or maybe you want to tell stories that will inspire and motivate your subscribers to act.
Regardless of what you write about, always strive to genuinely care about your subscribers and to help them.
If you can accomplish that, then writing awesome emails will be second nature, super fun, and worthwhile for you and your subscribers both!
So, Here’s A Great Exercise To Think About.
Write down the top 10 most important questions, fears, troubles, and resentments that your ideal subscribers have.
And then, your job becomes to ceaselessly brainstorm solutions, so you can help them to solve those 10 problems.
Before long, you’ll have plenty of super helpful content ideas, upon which you can craft awesome email messages.
Write in detail about the frustrations that your subscribers are facing, and then help them solve their biggest problems and fears.
Dig deep, and strive to provide stunning content that’s valuable. Try your best to be entertaining, insightful, or otherwise genuinely valuable.
Another Beautiful Email Writing Tip, Is To Always Ask Questions. Here’s Why.
Always entice your subscribers to RESPOND to your emails, so you can help serve them, build rapport, and build your demographic avatar more and more – which will enable you to create even better content.
Because as you ask more and more questions, you’re going to have a massive list of content that your subscribers are asking for help with. Do you think this will make it harder or easier to write beautiful emails that are ridiculously tailored to your audience?
Obviously, it’ll be much easier for you to create amazing content and promotions with this data!
(Another reason why it’s genius to ask your subscribers to respond, is because in most cases this also whitelists your emails so you never hit the spam box).
What About Selling In Your Emails? How Often Should You Sell?
Well, my two cents are that you can sell as frequently as you want, as long as your emails are valuable, and as long as you’re being genuine, cool, helpful and honest.
So, don’t be scared to sell if you’re offering beautiful content. Because remember that your audience wants to learn more about you; they joined your newsletter so there’s a good chance that they want what you have.
At the very least, they probably appreciate your content enough so that they check out what you have to say.
So, my advice is to have courage, and to believe in your own offers. You’re offering them helpful stuff that’s cool, right?
Include some calls to action for your webinars, sales letters, books, courses, and any other type of creative you want. Just be sure to provide awesome value in your email simultaneously.
Because, If Your Emails Are Valuable, Then A Strange Thing Is Going To Happen.
Your subscribers will begin thanking you, emailing you, replying to you, asking you about your websites and services, and ultimately, they’ll be your best sales force because you’ll be generating massive good karma for genuinely helping others.
Most importantly, they’ll be asking you for help and advice!
When that happens, you’ll never suffer from self-doubt or writer’s block ever again, because you’ll know exactly what to write about.
:]
