Building an email list is one of the coolest things you can do as an entrepreneur of any type.
But maybe you’re not sure what your business needs to start email marketing, and generating leads in a cool way?
If that’s the case, you’re going to love this, because I’m about to have a thorough brainstorming session regarding what entrepreneurs need to build an awesome email marketing list.
The Core Components Of An Email List Building Funnel
One of the main things that you need to start building an email list, is an awesome lead magnet.
So ask yourself, what’s something that you could give away to your prospects, that they would want?
Maybe you can give away a cheat sheet, a report, a video course, an e-book, or maybe even a free coaching call?
Here’s The Main Secret To Crafting A Beautiful Lead Magnet…
Your lead magnet has to be awesome, otherwise, nobody is ever going to subscribe.
Also remember that your lead capture page is just the beginning really. There are a few other components of your email list building funnel (aka an email lead generation funnel).
So you’ll need a lead capture page, a thank you page, an optional upsell page, and maybe even some membership pages so that you can host your free gifts in a cool way.
If you intend on having any upsells or selling your own products, then you’ll also need a method to process payments, and a way to securely deliver your products.
That’s one reason that I’m a huge fan of ClickFunnels, because you can get all of your marketing pages securely and easily hosted for you in the cloud using their service.
So if you’ve ever been frustrated because you’re not sure how to build cool marketing funnels, maybe it’s worth checking out, because ClickFunnels makes it easy to launch beautiful looking marketing pages quickly.
Once You Have An Awesome Marketing Funnel Setup, Then It’s Time To Consider How You Can Advertise Your Lead Capture Page.
There are so many cool ways you can advertise your marketing funnels these days.
Niche blogging, forum posting, paid advertising, banners, AdWords, Microsoft AdCenter, pay per view, paid to click, Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups, Twitter, Blog Automation, Pinterest Groups and a ton of other advertising methods.
I also love solo ads! A solo ad is when an entrepreneur, blogger, or authority sends an email to their newsletter promoting YOUR email newsletter. This is a really cool way to build your email-subscriber base, and it’s a really cool way to generate leads.
(So in other words, if you’re not familiar, a solo ad is simply an email advertisement, where you pay to advertise in other newsletters).
I’ve even published a ton of free video courses, and over 40 e-books in an effort to build my email list.
One of my main content marketing philosophies, is to create a ton of awesome content, and then promote your lead capture page within that content with small calls to action!
These Methods Require Some Effort, True, But They’re Super Fun If You Enjoy Helping People.
Promote your lead capture page everywhere that you can. If you create Podcasts, plug your lead magnet there. If you have a blog, then plug your lead capture page in your blog posts. If you teach courses, then have a lecture at the end of your course promoting your lead magnet.
Sorry for the long rant. I just think that email marketing, and email list building, is truly exciting, even if people think that email marketing isn’t as powerful as it used to be.
The point is that; I’ve brainstormed email list building for countless hours.
My Two Cents On Pay Per Click Advertising
The main thing I’ve learned, after all of my unyielding efforts, is that advertising your lead capture page directly with paid advertising will always be the fastest way to build your email list, period.
Sure, it’s possible to get lucky with other methods. Maybe some affiliates promote your product, or a guru promotes your webinar or something like that. Sure, it’s possible to get lucky. There’s nothing wrong with that. A little luck is awesome.
In my opinion however, the most consistent and reliant way to build your email list, will always be by directly advertising your lead capture page.
The Huge Problem With Pay Per Click Ads That Nobody Talks About
Pay Per Click ads can be super expensive! Especially if you don’t have a huge marketing budget, or know how to optimize keywords like an expert PPC hustler.
Maybe you can find some free coupons to try, or roll the dice and see if you can advertise profitably. There’s a major problem with this approach though; because as you know, buying advertising is expensive, and in my opinion can be risky.
What happens if your advertising campaign totally bombs?
What if you try your best to write awesome sales copy, but nobody thinks your content is cool?
What happens if you don’t know how to track your links to ensure that you can split test and optimize?
What if you’re not sure how to calculate your earnings per subscriber, so you can know when to “scale up” or when to “abort”.
That’s Why I’m Personally A Huge Fan Of Split Testing Marketing Creatives.
The best advice I can give you in that regard, is to always ensure that you split test your lead capture pages to see which ones get the best opt-in rates, and to always ensure that you have an awesome follow-up plan so that you can get the most bang out of your buck.
If you don’t followup with your email subscribers, then nothing good is ever going to happen. Also remember, that your audience subscribe to your email list because they want what you have! So, never be scared to provide precisely that.
So my best followup advice, is to make sure that you try your best to actually help people.
Also remember, that if you know your audience well enough, then it can be much easier to craft awesome followup promotions with them, right?
So if you know your subscribers are having problems with a specific aspect of your niche, maybe you can craft beautiful promotions designed to help them?
Thanks So Much For Checking This Out! You Rock!
Thank you once again for reading this.
