There are so many rumors and innuendos regarding the world of Solo Ads!
First, I just want to let you know that I started building my email list in the world of Solo Ads way back in 2010 and I’ve been a very close student of the game ever since.
I’ve taught a very well received course on Solo Ads with well over 1,000 students enrolled.
And I’ve also studied the world of Solo Ads like my life was on the line for a long time.
I Don’t Say That To Brag. I Say That Because I Know Solo Ads Top To Bottom!
So, maybe you’re not sure what the heck a Solo Ad is.
A Solo Ad is when you pay an email marketer to send out an advertisement of your own.
So that business owner, sends your promotion, to their email list.
My favorite thing to promote, is of course, a lead capture page.
Usually the advertisement that the Solo Ad vendor sends out will contain absolutely nothing but your ad copy, your advertisement, and a link to hopefully your lead capture page or your own webinar registration page.
Let’s Talk For A Moment About Mainstream Niches.
Before I adequately answer whether or not your offer would be a good match for Solo Ads, it’s important that we talk just for a second about mainstream niches.
A mainstream niche is a niche such as weight loss, make money, God, relationships, or any niche that just about all humans on this planet have a chance of being interested in.
In other words, a mainstream niche is NOT something like how to sew quilt fabrics, how to play the Trumpet, or even how to grow red green delicious tomatoes.
Are these niches popular? Yes, however, I would not say that they are mainstream niches.
More To The Point, Are Solo Ads Good For ClickFunnels Funnels?
The number one variable when determining if your advertisement is a good match for Solo Ads, is the Solo Ad email list that you’re promoting to.
The average Solo Ad list is not typically the most targeted list in the world.
I have a really cool exercise to help determine whether or not your advertisement is going to be a good fit with the majority of Solo Ad lists.
The Exercise Is As Follows: If You Randomly Asked 100 People On The Street…
What percentage of them would be interested in your offer?
Would 50 people out of 100, on average, be interested in your offer?
Would 75? Or only maybe 2 or 3?
What’s your best guess?
If the number, or percentage is less than 50, then I would say that your offer is NOT a good match for the average Solo Ad list.
That Being Said, There Are Other Direly Important Variables.
One of the biggest variables, is that you can actually find targeted Solo Ad lists that actually may be more targeted for your ClickFunnels funnel if indeed your funnel is in a more targeted niche.
So, before you ever pay a single red cent on a Solo Ad, make sure you know more about what type of list you’re promoting to.
A Hot Tip For Creating A Killer Lead Capture Page With ClickFunnels That Is Perfect For Solo Ads
I’ve spent hours upon hours analyzing data of my opt-in results for just about all of my Solo Ad buys.
I’ve literally split tested dozens upon dozens of lead capture pages to see which one converts the best.
I’ve published case studies, regarding the actual results of my split tests, and I’ve created entire courses on the subject.
If I had to isolate one crucial variable that determines how successful your lead capture page is going to be, especially with Solo Ads, it’s simplicity.
Make sure that your lead capture page is simple, to the point, and advertises a major benefit that speaks directly to the audience that you seek to capture on your email list.
In other words, make it so your end user can understand what they get, and that they understand the call to action, in LESS THAN 5 seconds.
If Your Lead Capture Page Is Too Complicated, Especially With Solo Ads, Your Conversions Will Crash!
If there’s one thing that I can speak with the utmost confidence, it’s that the simplicity of your ClickFunnels lead capture page has to be dramatic.
I’ve had friends who tell me that their lead capture page is converting terribly, and then when I look at the lead capture page the opt-in form is NOT above the fold. You have to scroll down in order to opt-in.
If you’re doing any type of content marketing, then it’s okay and in some cases advised to have a really awesome and detailed lead capture page.
However, when you’re paying for advertising, especially in the world of Solo Ads, I beg you to keep your lead capture page super simple and to the point.
Make it so your end users can read and understand the page in less than 5 seconds.
Don’t Take My Word For It. Split Test This On Your Own!
Another very important lesson I’ve learned in the Solo Ad world, is to never trust anyone else.
Trust in your own data.
Conduct your own split tests, your own case studies, and your own analytics.
Test for your own to see if my lead capture page theory works for you.
I suspect that it will, however, only trust your own data.
It’s far superior to mine, or anyone else’s.
Because as you know, there are so many variables in this world, that really the only thing you can trust is your own experience, and your own data.
If you take that advice, I trust that it will suit you well.
Let’s Briefly Talk About How To Avoid Getting Ripped Off When You Buy A Solo Ad!
I have spent many thousands of dollars advertising my lead capture pages with a ton of different Solo Ad vendors over the years.
I hate to say it, but of course there are some scammers out there and not all Solo Ad traffic is created equal.
So, my advice is to always do your homework.
Ask the vendor what types of offers their subscribers are interested in.
If you don’t get a good response, then don’t do business that person.
If the Solo Ad vendor isn’t cool enough to REPLY to you humbly and cordially, then do you want to do business with them anyway?
Also, always make sure that you do your homework to ensure that the Solo Ad list is a quality list in the first place; always look out for reviews of the Solo Ad Vendor.
