If you’re a Graphic Designer, maybe you’ve noticed that lead generation is often feast or famine.
Sometimes you have so many awesome leads and you’re not sure how you can even contact them all, and other times, you’re left dismally forlorn of all clients.
So, maybe you’re interested in learning how to generate leads as a Graphic Designer.
If that’s the case, then this article will probably be a good read for you because you’ll discover how to strategize a really awesome lead generation campaign.
The most important thing you need to remember about generating any type of lead, is that the process starts with your end user demographic.
The First Thing You Need To Know About Generating Leads As A Graphic Designers, Is What Your Ideal Prospect Really Wants!
When trying to generate leads, it’s a great idea to spend time analyzing your audience, and also what you can deliver to your customer.
The main thing to consider, is what your audience really wants, and why they want it.
They probably want a Graphic Designer because they know hiring a full-time designer can cost a fortune, and that often times they simply lack the skills to create awesome Graphic Designs.
Here are a few other questions that are great to ask yourself:
- Why do your prospects hire you?
- Why would prospects hire you over someone else?
- What types of problems do you solve?
- What is the true value that you deliver to your audience?
- What’s the top frustration that your prospects have about hiring graphic designers?
If you can answer these questions, and remain cognizant of these points, then you’ll have a much easier time when brainstorming awesome lead magnets, lead capture pages, sales letters, email campaigns, and all kinds of content.
What Are The Top 10 Frustrations That Your Ideal Graphic Design Prospects Experiences?
If you have any intention of generating leads, then you may as well create awesome content for your leads.
- Content that teaches them.
- Content that shares awesome stuff.
- Content that introduces yourself, and your company.
- Of course, content that sells and promotes your products and services.
That’s why it’s always a great idea to brainstorm the top 10 frustrations that your prospects are likely to have.
Maybe they’re frustrated because they’ve tried to build awesome banners, book covers, or blog post images but they’re never happy with the result?
Or maybe they’ve talked to other Graphic Designers before, but their quote wasn’t what they had in mind.
Or maybe they’re totally busy and just can’t muster the time required to create awesome content.
Finally, maybe they’re a growing business and are annoyed that their online presence just isn’t professional enough.
Either way, when you spend time to brainstorm what problems your leads are likely to have, it then becomes much easier to craft awesome marketing pages.
So, always spend time getting to know your audience, and trying your best to put your foot in their shoes.
This will enable you to create helpful content, whether you’re planning a webinar presentation, a sales pitch, or a blog post.
So, As A Graphic Designer, What Is An Awesome Thing That You Can Give Away For Free?
All of this leads us to your lead magnet, because it’s one of the first parts of your lead generation funnel.
The big question to ask yourself, is what you could give away for free to your audience?
Maybe you could promote a FREE service just to get your prospects on the phone?
Imagine if you offered a free Business Card design? Or a free Business Logo? Or maybe even a free consultation that’s 100% risk free, and cool.
Or maybe you could write a guide called “How Not To Get Ripped Off When You Hire A Graphic Designer!”. (Or, create a video e-course of the same topic).
The point is that, if you brainstorm for a few minutes, and if you always consider the problems that your end user is having, then you’ll be able to come up with some really awesome lead magnet ideas.
Why is this direly important?
Because if your lead magnet isn’t desirable, then you can have the fanciest lead capture page in the world, but it still won’t convert!
Because your offer is everything. So, spend some time brainstorming an awesome lead magnet that your prospects would say “Heck Yes!” to over and over again.
The Next Step, Is To Brainstorm Some Awesome Upsells That Your Graphic Design Leads Will Love!
After you generate a lead, it’s now time to brainstorm your upsell.
Because if you’re generating leads, you may as well try your best to build rapport with your audience, and then sell them something, right?
So maybe you could have a “Thank You” page immediately after your prospect subscribes and requests access to your lead magnet.
Maybe Create A Thank You Page With A Video That Accomplishes The Following:
- Thanks your lead for subscribing to the newsletter!
- Gives them instructions on how to access the lead magnet.
- The video could then go on to introduce yourself, and your business.
- You could then briefly pitch one of your offers, one of your products, or even a consultation call with you personally. (After which, a big “Call To Action” button pops up under the video).
As you can see, with this simple lead generation funnel (A lead capture page, and a thank you page), we’ve already promoted an awesome lead magnet, and then thanked the lead while providing a ton of value, while also building our email list, and pitching your Graphic Design service.
Neat, right?

The truth is that, there are so many awesome topics that you could write about as a Graphic Designer:
- You could teach about Content Marketing.
- You could teach about Entrepreneurial topics.
- You could teach about Blogging.
- You could teach about Email marketing.

- You could send emails about your Graphic Design Service’s availability!
- If you have an opening on your calendar, send an email inviting your prospects to contact you.

How ClickFunnels Is Different From Other Business Websites And How You Can Effectively Use It As A Graphic Designer
As you know, as an awesome Graphic Designer, there are so many reasons why having a traditional business website is a great idea.
Maybe you can use it to publish news updates, your blog posts, or to have an “About Us” page and other cool pages about your website.
The main reason ClickFunnels is different, is because ClickFunnels focuses entirely on lead generation, selling and promoting your products.
So if you’re frustrated that your traditional website isn’t that great at generating leads or promoting your products, then ClickFunnels might be cool to check out.
Could A Graphic Designer Benefit By Hosting And Promoting Automated Webinars?
Automated webinars can be a really cool way to generate leads!
Automated webinars are also very nice, because as the name implies, they’re 100% automated.
Meaning you can set the webinar up once, and then it runs for you at a set interval over, and over, and over again.
So your prospects could register to the webinar today, tomorrow, next month, or next year, and the webinar would play as if you were giving the presentation live.
Plus, webinars are an awesome way to promote your products and services, while also teaching super helpful content.
So if you want to brainstorm the perfect topic of your webinar, then you could easily refer back to the top 10 frustrations that your prospective Graphic Design Clients are having.
Then, maybe you could have a massive webinar that solves all 10 of those problems. Alternatively, maybe you could even create 10 smaller webinars to see which one your prospects like the most?
Either way, automated webinars rock because you can record your presentation at your best, and then focus on promoting that presentation like crazy.
In Summary, Graphic Designers May Be Able To Use ClickFunnels Into Their Marketing Campaigns And To Generate Leads.
As a Graphic Designer, you want the best for your clients.
You want to create awesome logos, banners, designs, webpages, lead capture pages, and a ton of other awesome pages for your audience.
But, as you know, it can be insanely difficult to build a lead generation funnel unless you’re a Master Of Computer Science, And PhD in Marketing.
That’s why, I always try my best to keep it simple, and to focus on the basic marketing and economic strategies that will always work.
That strategy, is to figure out what your audience really wants.
Dig deep into the mind, and into the frustrations of your prospects, so that you can create awesome content that helps them.
If you can accomplish that, then at least your content will be super helpful, if nothing else.
And, hopefully, your lead magnets, lead capture pages, and upsells are going to speak directly to the very fears and desires of every reader who ever happens upon your awesome content.
