A Genius Email Marketing Tip That I Share With All Students, Friends, Colleagues, And Everyone!
So, how are you supposed to write the perfect email marketing welcome message? How can you make the biggest impact possible, while also branding yourself and providing helpful content to your email subscribers?
I want to let you know that I’ve taught several email marketing and writing courses over the years. One of the most common questions I’ve yet to encounter is how students can effectively write marketing emails. The best answer is to know who your audience is, what they want, and how you can help them. I also have other advice I’d love to share.
My humble advice is simple. Act natural and be yourself as you plan and write your marketing campaign. Try your utmost to boost and accommodate your fantastic email subscribers! Another critical email marketing tip is to study your end-users and know what types of questions they ask in your niche.
If you’re not sure what types of questions those in your niche ask, then no problem! One of my favorite solutions is to use Answer The Public. Answer The Public helps you tap into “red meat” search data insights so you can see exactly what other people are searching for in your niche. With this much natural SEO search data at your disposal, it’s easy to figure out specifically what your audience wants to learn, solve, and figure out.
My Favorite Exercise For Unleashing Nearly-Endless Email Marketing And Email Newsletter Ideas…
So, here’s an awesome exercise that I love to carry out whenever I’m planning an email marketing welcome sequence. First, I’ll write down 10 common questions that those in my niche experience. It’s easy to find this data using Answer The Public. These questions make for the perfect marketing emails, subject lines, campaign strategies, email newsletter pieces, Podcast episodes, YouTube videos, or blog posts that you can then share with your email subscribers.
After You Make A List Of Top Questions, Try To Turn Those Questions Into Pithy Yet Actionable Email Marketing Topics!
If a question is popular in your niche, there’s a chance that those on your email list ask the same questions to themselves or they have at least wondered about those topics in the past. That’s why common questions, in my opinion, make for excellent topics for your email newsletter and initial welcome sequence.
Once your list of popular niche-related questions is ready, it’s time to write the perfect email marketing campaign to welcome your subscribers.
You may also find that you’ve already written content (on your blog, or elsewhere) that answers some of the top questions in your niche. If so, perfect. You can now share links to those blog posts within the first email sequence. That way, the welcome sequence contains a ton of actionable and helpful content for your amazing email subscribers.
The best part is that you now know for a fact that people are indeed searching for content similar to what you’re sharing. Let this leverage and knowledge fuel your confidence to create fantastic content over the long-haul!
Even if you don’t have any pre-existing content to share inside of your initial welcome sequence, you can still hustle to answer some of the top questions that your prospective subscribers are likely to experience. You can then turn your answers into blog posts that you share in your initial welcome email.
Knowledge of your marketplace and questions in your niche is everything. I also think knowledge can help provide tons of inspiration, and motivation to write stellar email newsletters and email marketing content.

# 3 – What’s The Best Method To Build An Email List?
In my opinion, there are two primary flavors of email list building and lead generation. Either method requires the study of the art and science of email marketing and lead generation funnels!
For you to generate leads, you need to offer some type of lead magnet to entice your prospective subscribers to join your tribe. Whether your lead magnet is a webinar, a free course, or a free book, it needs to allure and entice your prospect enough to get them to act!
Once you have a solid lead magnet, the name of the game is to generate website traffic. In other words, you must also advertise your lead magnet somehow! Let’s talk briefly about the two big “flavors” of advertising that I know of and discuss with colleagues.
The first flavor is content marketing. In this massive category, I place methods such as blogging, search engine marketing, social media marketing, social media contests, Podcasting, YouTube videos, et cetera.
You also have paid advertising. Paid advertising is, without a doubt, a fabulous email list building and lead generation method. However, paid advertising is risky, especially if you don’t have much lead generation experience or a big marketing budget!
Of the two email list building strategies, I’m a huge fan of content marketing! The reason I love content marketing is that paid advertising is ludicrously expensive at times.
By the way, if you wish to brainstorm more about lead generation and content marketing, then I wrote an epic guide that talks about 5 email list building methods for bloggers. I invite you to read if you wish to learn more about lead generation and email list building by way of WordPress blogging!
# 4 – How Frequently Should I Send Emails To My Email List?
The single most striking clue for answering this question is to take inventory of your current blog post routine. In other words, how often do you create content worthy of distribution?
If you create publish remarkable content every day, then you could write an email newsletter daily, or weekly. If however, you write content at a much more leisurely pace, then consider easing your email newsletter back to a much lower frequency.
The idea I’m working to articulate is that quality counts. Never send inadequate content to your email subscribers just because you wish to send more emails! Try your best to only send content worthy of sharing. If you can follow that one rule, you’ll always know the exact frequency that makes sense for your style.
# 5 – Does Answer The Public Work For Coaches And Consultants?
Yes! I honestly think that Answer The Public works for any small business owner, blogger, WordPress enthusiast, content marketer, or anyone who publishes nonfiction content.
Answer The Public helps you tap into the raw psychographics of nearly any audience. So, you can theoretically determine the exact content you should create.
I’m a huge fan! I also believe that heck yes, coaches and consultants should publish plenty of blog content, Podcast content, tutorial content, et cetera.
Conclusion
I thank you cordially and humbly for reading this blog post.
You rule!
I love brainstorming about the topics of email marketing, lead generation, content marketing, and self-publishing! The world is changing in unprecedented ways, and it’s my goal to help small business owners discover the joy of email marketing, writing, and blogging.
