A Little-Known Marketing Lessons I Learned Working As An IT Geek For Hire…
In this document I’m going to reveal the single most important marketing lesson that I’ve ever learned from my experience in the IT world.
Please let me explain!
One of the most frustrating things about working IT, is that customers are always coming to you for help when they’re at their worst.
They’re frustrated, depressed, angry, and for one reason or another, their equipment just isn’t working.
Some End Users Are Technically Frustrated, And Are On The Brink Of Losing Their Cool… Before They Even Talk To You!
So, being able to resolve technical issues quickly is one of the most important skills.
The fastest way that I’ve learned to troubleshoot nearly any technological issue, is by split testing.
For example, let’s pretend that your customer brings a laptop, and the device won’t open a certain .doc file.
You can tell that they’re about 7 minutes away from smashing their laptop into oblivion, so time is of the essence.
What’s The Fastest Way To Resolve Almost Any IT Problem In The Fastest Way Possible?
You could easily spend hours upon hours, or even days trying to calculate all of the variables.
But… You don’t have days to figure it out. You have about 7 minutes before the end user loses their composure (lol)…
So, the very first thing you should do, is try to figure out if the .doc file opens up on a SEPARATE device.
(Alternatively, you could try to open up a separate .doc file on the same device, but let’s stick with the first option).
That way, you can isolate for sure whether or not there’s a problem with the .doc file, or if there’s something wrong with the actual device being used to access the file.
This Is Technical Support 101, And It’s Also Tightly Related To Split Testing.
That’s split testing 101. Check to see if the problem is the device being used, or if the .doc file in question is to blame.
This split testing and isolation strategy is one of the most important lessons in IT, but the logic of split testing goes far beyond that.
Because if you have any type of marketing funnel, blog, sales page, lead capture page, or any type of online presence…
Then split testing can be the best way to isolate what’s working, and what isn’t working.
This is my humble two cents after studying the world of IT for a super long time, and I hope that this information and impactful tip finds you well.
In any event, I thank you so much for reading this!

You rock! Seriously, thank you so much for checking this out.
In this document I tried to reveal some of the frustration that I avoided over the years by being able to quickly isolate technological problems.
The best way I know of to do that, is by split testing!
Being able to split test effectively transcends the IT world, obviously, it’s a great skill for all tech nerds, marketers, and entrepreneurs to have, especially if you create any type of websites or marketing creatives.
