# 1 – Give Your Dental Clients A Reason To Subscribe
One of the most critical things to remember about your email marketing endeavors is that your dental prospects and email subscribers won’t give you their email addresses for the heck of it. Instead, you need to provide a good reason for your dental clients to subscribe and give you their real email address.
That’s why it’s vital to choose an outstanding lead magnet that your dental clients will appreciate.
So, as a dentist, orthodontist, or hygienist, what is something that you can give away for free? Here’s where your intimate knowledge of your ideal dental client comes into play.
If you’re thinking, “But Mike! I have no clue what to offer as a dental lead magnet! Help me brainstorm, dude!” – then I’ve got your back.
Here Are 7 Potential Lead Magnet Ideas For Dentists:
- # 1 – Create a free report that shows the top 7 dental myths.
- # 2 – Offer free teeth whitening for new subscribers. If that’s not feasible, offer a special discount.
- # 3 – Record an audio file (.mp3) showcasing your top 10 tips for white teeth and offer it free to new subscribers.
- # 4 – Offer a free dental kit for new subscribers.
- # 5 – Offer a free “welcome back” kit for new subscribers.
- # 6 – Host a webinar talking about the top 7 dental secrets for keeping teeth clean at home.
- # 7 – Offer a free dental consultation for new subscribers.
Of course, this list of lead magnet ideas just scratches the surface! Hopefully, as a dentist, you can brainstorm more ideas based upon your devoted understanding of your ideal dental client.
# 2 – Build A Good Lead Generation Funnel To Attract Your Ideal Dental Subscriber
Many new email marketers aren’t sure how to generate an email lead and build their email list. I remember when I first started email marketing, I had not the slightest inkling on how to begin building my list and generating email leads.
Can you relate? Maybe you want to launch a gorgeous email newsletter for your dental practice but you’re not sure how or where to start? If so, then let’s talk about lead generation funnels.
The first thing you need to generate an email lead is a lead generation funnel. A lead generation funnel (in the simplest terms) is a website that you deploy to help you capture the email address of your dental clients.
The best lead magnet won’t do your dental service any good if you don’t have a serviceable lead generation funnel.
A lead generation funnel also helps you to automatically followup with your dental leads. That way, you can write an excellent email followup sequence that introduces your dental practice, your dental discounts, your social media profiles, your contact information, and more.
If you’re in a panic because you have no idea how to build a worthy lead generation funnel, then no worries. These days you can use apps like ClickFunnels, GetResponse, or Kartra to build amazing lead generation funnels without stress or ballyhoo.
# 3 – Plan Special Promotions In Advance To Share With Your Dental Subscribers!
One of the worst email marketing mistakes I’ve made is to generate leads and then fail to plan followup email promotions and email newsletter content.
Remember, if you don’t send email content to your dental leads and email subscribers, then what’s the point of email marketing?
On the same token, if you don’t stay ahead of the game and plan content ahead of time, then it’s all too easy to neglect your dental subscribers.
What happens if writer’s block snatches your creativity? Or, what happens if you’re too busy in your practice to write email newsletter content on the fly? That’s why it’s a magnificent idea to plan your dental email newsletter, if possible.
Whatever you do, don’t neglect your dental clients. If you wait too long to send an email to your dental clients, then they may forget about you, move on, or otherwise lose interest in your dental services.
For those reasons, it’s a clever (and shrewd) move if you plan with your email promotions and email marketing content far in advance.
If you’re not sure what types of emails you could send as a dentist, then here are some ingenious ideas.
5 Cool Email Newsletter And Email Marketing Ideas For Dentists:
- # 1 – Aggregate and compile some of the best dental blog posts, articles, or dental hygiene updates once per month.
- # 2 – Send new dental hygiene tips each month.
- # 3 – Host a monthly training webinar and showcase your best dental hygiene strategies, insights, and training.
- # 4 – Share your seasonal discounts, promotions, deals, and offers.
- # 5 – Remind your dental subscribers to register for their dental checkups every quarter.
- # 6 – Offer free help and dental consulting to your subscribers! Send an email once in a while inviting your dental clients to click reply and ask any dental questions or concerns.
- # 7 – You could share video content, tutorials, blog posts, or other content that you create. Also, you can continuously include a call to action inside every email that promotes your dental practice services.
The above list is a tiny list of email marketing ideas for dentists. You can also mix and match! Maybe each month your email newsletter could contain a combination of dental news, promotions, tips, tutorials, discounts, and coupons, et cetera.
I also invite you to read more about how to write an email course from scratch. An email course might be a great idea if you wish to automate much of your welcome sequence. Food for thought!
# 4 – Here’s How Your Dental Office Can Save Money On Email Marketing
One of the most common concerns that I encounter when speaking to prospective email marketers is that the cost of email marketing is too steep.
If you can relate, then I have excellent news. The cost of email marketing used to be high, once upon a time. However, these days, you can effortlessly launch a beautiful email newsletter without spending a single penny.
You can use services like MailChimp or MailerLite without opening your wallet or spending a dime. Either of those services is free to try as long as your email newsletter base remains relatively small. If your email list grows beyond the free membership, then you can upgrade your account for a small fee. You can also use services like ClickFunnels, AWeber, or GetResponse without breaking the bank.
Any of the popular email marketing service providers these days are surprisingly straightforward to use, they offer excellent support, and they’re affordable – especially if your email list is tiny or just getting started.
# 5 – Here’s How To Write Beautiful Marketing Emails Even If You Suck At Design
One of the best benefits of using famous email marketing apps these days is that they include email marketing templates that make it simple to launch beautiful marketing emails.
Even if you loathe graphic design (as I do), you can still customize, craft, and deploy attractive email marketing templates for your dentistry without much tech stress or ballyhoo.
Any Of The Following Email Marketing Providers Boast Beautiful Email Marketing Templates:
- # 1 – AWeber
- # 2 – Constant Contact
- # 3 – MailerLite
- # 4 – MailChimp
- # 5 – GetResponse
You also have plenty of other email marketing options to consider! In my opinion, just about any popular email marketing platform will have plenty of fantastic templates to choose from and consider.
Email Marketing For Dental Practices FAQ
If you’re a dentist or orthodontist looking into the world of email marketing, then you might encounter the following questions.
# 1 – Does Email Marketing Work For Dentists?
Yes! I’m a longtime fan of email marketing and I honestly believe that email marketing rocks for all business owners. I think that email marketing works for just about any dentist, entrepreneur, marketer, blogger, or local business.
If you want to get the most out of email marketing for your dental practice, then try your best to brainstorm and plan fantastic newsletter content routinely.
Try to send a new email at least once per month. That way, you can strive to build stalwart rapport with your email subscribers while also advertising your dental offers and promotions.
# 2 – Do You Have Email Marketing Templates For Dentists?
I do not. However, I recommend that you try email marketing service providers like AWeber for awesome dental email marketing templates.
I’ve been using AWeber for a super long time and their email marketing templates rock. I prefer a simplistic email marketing template. However, if you want something more fanciful or elegant, AWeber has plenty of options.
You’ll find countless dozens of email marketing templates that you can easily drag, drop, edit and customize to match your brand and dental practice.
Even if you decide not to use AWeber, you also have other options to consider! GetResponse, Constant Contact, MailerLite, and MailChimp are all phenomenal and worthy of consideration.
# 3 – What’s The Best Email Marketing Strategy For Dentists?
The most dependable email marketing strategy for any email marketer is to provide valuable content to your subscribers.
Think about your own email experience as a consumer. Why do you subscribe to email newsletters? Most importantly, why do you stay subscribed?
The answer, I suspect, is because you find value in the email newsletter. Therefore, I challenge you to brainstorm how you can provide value to your dental practice email subscribers.
How can you help your dental clients? What type of content would they appreciate? What dental problems do they struggle with solving? If you can answer those questions, then your email marketing gameplan becomes much easier!
I also have to note, that it’s essential to promote your dental practice, offers, and discounts in your marketing emails. If you’re going to spend time and energy crafting a fantastic email newsletter, then you may as well try your utmost to promote your dental practice at the same time.
One way to promote your dental practice inside every email is by promoting your dentist’s office’s phone number. If your dental office has a dental service registration form, then you could also promote a direct call to action inside each marketing email so your dental clients can easily schedule an appointment.
# 4 – Can You Share Any Good Lead Generation Tips For Dentists?
I feel like I should write a book on the topic of lead generation for dentists. That said, I want to give you two massive pointers.
At the beginning of this post, I mentioned the consequence of a lead generation funnel. Once your dental practice commands an adequate lead generation funnel, the primary strategy is to advertise your lead magnet and lead generation funnel anywhere you can imagine.
You might be thinking, “But Mike! Where should I promote my lead generation funnel, exactly?”
The first tip is to promote your lead magnet to every dental client whoever steps foot into your dental practice. In other words, you should invite your existing dental clients to join your email list!
Chances are if you offer an awesome gift to a happy client, there’s a good chance they’ll gladly accept your gift. (That’s another reason why having an awesome lead magnet is critical.)
So, at the end of each visit, you could hand your dental client a business card (or flyer) that promotes your lead generation funnel URL. Let your client know about your awesome lead magnet, and that they can join your email newsletter. It’s a win/win for you and the client.
Another big tip is to promote your lead magnet wherever you publish content online. If your dental practice has a blog or social media profiles, then your blog is the ideal place to promote your lead magnet and lead generation funnel.
You can also experiment with paid advertising if you wish. However, please remember that paid advertising is expensive! If you wish to experiment with paid advertising, then you must have an effective marketing funnel and the patience enough to test small.
If you want to go down the paid advertising route, I encourage you to study paid advertising and lead generation funnels in more detail. Paid advertising is tricky, risky, and requires a ton of effort to get right.
I also wrote a beautiful article that talks about how to generate leads without leaving your home. If you wish to learn more about some of my favorite lead generation methods, then I invite you to brainstorm!
# 5 – What’s The Best Dental Followup Email Tactic?
Your dental email followup campaign is only limited by your creativity. That said, there are a few strategies that I think any good dental followup email campaign should follow.
In your first email followup, I think it’s a great idea to properly introduce yourself. Let your ideal dental client know who you are, the philosophy of your dental practice, and try your best to share your dental practice’s story genuinely.
If you have any stellar testimonials, photos of your staff, or special discounts for new subscribers, your first followup email is a great place to share.
Also, before I forget, thank your subscriber for subscribing! Your subscriber has plenty of options for their dental care needs, so always try your best to be as welcoming and pleasant as possible. Never take your dental client for granted, and try your best to let your personality and charisma shine.
In your future email followup campaigns, I recommend all email marketers to share invaluable content while also promoting your dental office contact information, registration pages, and consultation applications.
It’s important to provide value to your dental subscribers and clients. But never forget to properly advertise your dental business inside every email that you dispatch!
