Here Is Why Email Marketing Funnels Are So Compelling For Podcasters!
I believe that email marketing is one of the most immeasurable ways you can spread the word about your content. Take me for example! I hustle laboriously to write fresh blog posts on the topics of email marketing, email list building, lead generation, and content marketing.
To make a long story short – email marketing, in my opinion, is one of the coolest ways to promote your Podcasts, blog posts, promotions, and updates alike!
I know first hand how difficult and challenging it is to grow your Podcast! Take it from me. I have launched my Podcast on TWO different occasions – and have quit both times! As I write this blog post, I am contemplating launching my Podcast for the third time!
You might be thinking – “But Mike! Why the heck should I listen to you? You failed with your Podcast! Not once, but twice!”
Well, that is exactly why you should listen to me. I have put a profusion of thought into email marketing and email list building strategy for Podcasters. I desire to bestow my brainstorming ideas with you. Sound good? Then let us proceed!
# 1 – Email Course Funnels
An email course funnel, in my opinion, is one of the most fashionable lead funnel ideas for email marketers and Podcasters alike! Why an email course? One of the principal reasons an email course rocks is because it is a modern and practical method to generate an email lead.
An email course does not merely help you to generate a lead. An email course also rocks for sharing some of your most helpful content with your ideal Podcast listener.
For example, pretend that your Podcast is in the health niche. Maybe you could make a list of the top 7 questions that your Podcast listeners always ask you.
The answers to those questions would reasonably make powerful and helpful email marketing content that you can include in your email course. Email courses rock!
The best part is that you can then advertise, tease, and pre-sell your email course at the beginning and the end of each podcast episode that you produce. Food for thought!
PS: I have spent nearly-endless quantities of time writing about email courses! I invite you to read an epic blog post I wrote about how to create an email course from scratch. If email courses sound intriguing, then I invite you to read more!
# 2 – Survey Funnels
I think that survey funnels rock for Podcasters for two significant reasons. First, a survey funnel is outstanding for helping you to generate an email lead. A survey funnel can also help you to figure out the pain points and frustrations of your ideal podcast listener. Classic!
As a Podcaster, I contend that the more you know about your prospective listener, the easier it will become to brainstorm more appropriate and relevant Podcast episode ideas. Makes sense, right? That is why survey funnels might be the perfect entryway to your email marketing funnel for your Podcast.
In other words – you can use your survey funnel to figure out the most prominent questions, frustrations, and hurdles that your Podcast listeners experience.
So, let us pretend that your podcast is in the blogging or content marketing niche. Suppose that your Podcast listeners take your survey – and now you determine that they are struggling with the technical aspects of starting a blog.
Armed with this information, you can now create more relevant Podcast content to help your new email subscribers and Podcast listeners with the troubles they might experience when building or launching their blog.
You can also use the data your survey funnel delivers to brainstorm the perfect affiliate marketing offer, online course, digital book, or SaaS to recommend to your podcast listeners and email subscribers. Food for thought!
By the way, I am a tremendous enthusiast of the ClickFunnels affiliate program! If you are looking for an excellent marketing SaaS (software as a service) to share with your audience, then I invite you to read my comprehensive ClickFunnels affiliate program review to learn more.
# 3 – Free Book Funnels
A lot of people think that book funnels are not popular anymore. As an avid reader – I have to disagree! I admire books, and I relish reading! Are you the same way? If so, then a book funnel might rock for your Podcast and your listeners might adore getting their hands on your free book!
That is why I recommend that your Podcast at least consider offering a free digital book as a lead magnet. I realize that digital books are not as “modern” as email courses, webinars, or membership website. However, remember that you can still provide an enormous amount of substance with a decent and worthy book!
If you are discouraged because you are not the best graphic designer, or if you are not sure how to produce your book, then check out Canva. Canva is one of my preferred apps for building gorgeous and beautiful graphics for my blog and other projects. Canva also has a nifty book designer feature that probably makes brainstorming and building your book much easier than you think!
PS: One of the most stressful things that you might experience as a Podcaster, is when you get a negative review. That is why I wrote a legendary blog post that discusses how to handle negative business reviews. I invite you to read, and I hope that you enjoy the content!
# 4 – Free Course Funnels
If you are new to the nerdy MrComputerScience.com blog, then you may not realize that I enjoy teaching! I have launched over a dozen online courses and my courses have attracted thousands of astounding students from all over the world.
So, I cannot adequately state how much I treasure and appreciate the worlds of online teaching and distance education. For that reason, I propose that a free course funnel might be a stroke of genius for your Podcast.
Imagine if you made a small (yet effective) membership website stuffed with your most useful tutorials, lectures, and guides. Talk about the ultimate lead magnet!
If you are thinking, “But Mike! Dude! There is no way I am going to spend an eternity launching an online course only to give it away for free! That sounds like way too much work!”, – Then I have a relieving course creation hack to share with you!
That course creation hack is uncomplicated. Consider that creating a free course might be much more straightforward than you think! That is because as a Podcaster, you might already have oodles of content that you can effortlessly repurpose into a course lecture.
Also remember, that in my opinion, your course does not have to be super advanced, decorative, or elaborate. For example, what are your top 10 most impactful Podcast episodes? Or, what are your top 10 most popular Podcast episodes? Consider turning these Podcast episodes into short video lectures for your audience and new email subscribers!
You can use LibreOffice, Canva, or Office 365 to create slides for your course if you wish. Then, take your slides and your audio files and turn them into a video using Camtasia. This is the exact process I have used to create many lectures over the years! – And I did not have to appear on camera! (If you are camera shy like I am, then PowerPoint presentations rule.)
PS: If online teaching interests you at all, then I invite you to read this helpful blog post I wrote about teaching tips for new online teachers and distance learning instructors. I share some of my best teaching tips I learned after launching over a dozen course! I hope you have a blast reading!
# 5 – Video Sales Letter Funnels
Are you a Podcaster without much time on your hands? Maybe the idea of creating a complicated funnel seems like too much work? Or, maybe you detest the concept of writing a book or an email course?
If the other funnel ideas do not sound attractive to you, or if an automated webinar funnel or a fully-fledged free course funnel seems too laborious or difficult, then the video sales letter funnel might be a great alternative.
There are a few reasons that I admire video sales letter funnels. First, I want to let you know that pretty much all of my digital courses were marketed with a combination of video sales letters and written sales letters. So, I am an enormous advocate of video sales letters.
I also think that video sales letters are ludicrously flexible. For example, your video sales letter funnel can showcase your email list. Or, your video sales letter funnel can promote an affiliate product, your coaching program, a network marketing offer, or anything that you can imagine.
PS: I know that some of my students struggle when it comes time to create PowerPoint slides or slide decks for their course or video sales letters. If you can relate, then I invite you to read a valiant blog post I wrote about free apps to create beautiful slide presentations without needing fancy design skills. I hope you have fun reading!

In my humble opinion – the most beneficial thing you can ever do for your Podcast listeners is to study the core frustrations and annoyances that they experience relevant to your niche.
Once you discover the key frustrations that your Podcast listeners experience, it becomes much easier for you to brainstorm breakthrough promotional ideas to consider.
Therefore, I challenge you to study your Podcast listeners! What are the problems that they experience as it correlates to your niche? Ask them what troubles they face! Using this information, endeavor to find products, services, courses, books, and offers that can help solve their difficulties!

# 3 – What Is The Best Email Marketing App For Podcasters?
I have been studying the world of email marketing for a while now! For that reason, I think that you have a variety of credible options for email marketing as a Podcaster.
I use AWeber at the moment and I have been using AWeber for a long time. However, AWeber is not your only choice. You have a surplus of dependable options to consider!
MailerLite, Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, GetResponse, ClickFunnels, and Kartra are just a small handful of options. Countless email marketing software apps rock these days. Conduct your research and then take your pick.
If you want to dive much deeper into your options for email marketing software, then I invite you to read the 10 best email marketing apps for serious bloggers that I wrote for you. In my opinion, all 10 of the email marketing apps showcased therein rock and they are worthy of your consideration!
# 4 – What Is The Best Way For Podcasters To Generate Email Leads?
I think that the first step is to produce fantastic Podcast content that your audience enjoys. Build a brand! Then, once you have the attention of your audience, promote an amazing lead magnet that is alluring, desirable, and outstanding!
I covered a handful of my favorite lead magnet ideas in this blog post. I fancy email courses. I also think that a digital book makes for a great lead magnet.
As someone who has published a handful of digital books over the years, and as someone who loves to read marketing literature, I still think that digital books and other forms of written content make for excellent lead magnets.
Also, remember that the format might not matter as much as you think. A digital book, an email course, a video lecture, or a video sales letter might contain the same exact information. The only difference is the format! Food for thought.
# 5 – How Often Should Podcasters Write New Emails To Their Email List?
This is a question that I have brainstormed and discussed countlessly over the years. My advice is perpetually the same whether you are an eCommerce vendor, a blogger, a network marketer, or a Podcaster.
How often should you email your Podcast subscribers? The answer mainly depends on you, your style, and how frequently you publish!
Do you create new Podcasts once per week? Or, maybe a few times per week? Then maybe a weekly email update containing your most recent Podcast episodes might be an intelligent strategy?
Or, maybe you could write a few emails per week containing your latest social media updates, promotions, Podcast episodes, blog posts, or anything else that you have worthy to share.
The main idea, I think, is to consider how much content you create. More importantly, consider how frequently you can provide valuable content. Can you create phenomenal content once per week? Twice per week? That is the major inquiry to consider! Ask yourself honestly!
Conclusion
