Let’s discuss these fascinating email marketing strategies in further detail, shall we?
# 1 – Prove Your Coaching Mettle With This Clever Email Marketing Strategy That Also Gives Tons Of Data
One of my biggest email marketing secrets is that most of my email marketing campaigns are fully automated. I’ve written extensively regarding the differences between “pre-programmed” email automation and “live” email broadcasts. Suffice to say both have their big advantages, and I have ample experience with both email marketing methodologies!
One of the biggest advantages of email automation is that it’s easy to analyze the resulting data. You can quickly see what emails your audience loves, and which emails they don’t particularly appreciate.
This resulting data can help you to write more content that your audience likes, and avoid creating content on topics that don’t “click” (pun intended) with your subscribers.
It’s true that you also get plentiful analytics from “live” broadcast emails. However, I find the convenience and centralized statistics of a single automated email campaign perfect for lazy and forgetful marketers like myself.
Another big benefit of email automation is that your campaigns theoretically demand less attention once your automated campaigns are up and running. I mentioned I was lazy, right? 🙂
Email automation can also help you to endeavor to create the perfect branding sequence. Master the perfect message once, and then leverage that content over and over again to your new subscribers.
Email Automation For Coaches And Consultants!
Your automated email campaign helps you to prove your coaching mettle by delivering fantastic tips, advice, and guidance related to your coaching niche. Such an email campaign can help to skyrocket your good karma and authority. Email automation can also help to establish a relationship with your coaching prospects without the stress and constant creativity of “live” email broadcasts!
Here’s another big reason why I love email automation for coaches and consultants. I’ve known oodles of email marketers, bloggers, tech nerds, and entrepreneurs. As you know, many people suffer from writer’s block, anxiety, life’s ups and downs, and other variables that prevent them from writing consistently.
Can you relate? Have you ever banged your first with unrest on your favorite keyboard because writer’s block snags your creativity before you can publish anything?
In other words, what happens if you can’t write an email for a month? Or two months? Or three months? Your subscribers will probably forget about you. Or, they’ll fall out of love with your content, style, or coaching offers.
That’s why I cherish email automation! I think that all coaches, consultants, bloggers, affiliates, and other small business owners can benefit tremendously from email automation.
The Liberating Freedom Of Email Automation For Coaches
Instead of frantically stressing to constantly create fresh “live” broadcast emails, email automation allows you to focus initially on a beautiful campaign and then focus on and analyze your email marketing statistics and data.
The liberating freedom of email automation also avails you to focus on lead generation, serving your clients and writing even more emails that you can attach to your existing campaigns.
I have one final note for my dearly beloved coaches and consultants of the world. Imagine if you had the perfect email marketing campaign that introduced yourself, shared your stories, and also advertised your coaching offer.
Imagine if your email marketing campaign lasted 30 days, 60 days, 365 days, or even more. Wouldn’t it feel fantastic to promote your email campaign everywhere so you can see how your new subscribers interact with your campaign? After your hard work, you can relax, and focus on data analysis, improving your campaigns, and promotion! Food for thought!

# 2 – How To Promote Your Coaching Offers With Email Marketing And Email Newsletter Publishing
Are you frustrated because you’re not sure how to artfully promote your coaching offers in your marketing emails or email newsletters? Or, maybe you want to promote your offer, but you don’t want to seem like a pest or a spammer? If so, I can relate!
Your best option may be total simplicity. Advertising your coaching business is as easy as inserting a clever call to action inside your email. Your email newsletter is a great opportunity to promote your latest tips, funnels, tutorials, podcasts, blog posts, webinars, or social media posts.
If you’re worried because you loathe copywriting, or if the tech stuff stands in your way, then relax; there’s no reason to stress. I’m about to brainstorm a few of my favorite strategies to help promote your coaching offer (or any offer really) without any tech stress or ballyhoo!
How To Easily Insert A Call To Action Inside Your Marketing Emails
One smart question that email marketing students like to ask is how to insert a call to action within their marketing emails. Another popular question is what type of marketing funnel they should promote within their emails. I’d like to address both of those questions!
If you’re a novice email marketer and you have no clue how to start, then you’re in good hands. These days every famous email autoresponder service from MailChimp, MailerLite, AWeber, GetResponse, ClickFunnels, and others are elementary to use without complication. You can easily insert all manners of calls to action without tech stress or keyboard-smashing-frustration.
Here Are Some Smart Sales Funnel Ideas For Coaches And Consultants That Are Perfect For Email Marketing
Another question you might have is “But Mike! What should I promote in the email itself? How can I plug my coaching offer without coming off too strong or seeming desperate?”. One of my favorite methods to promote anything is with a marketing funnel. There are tons of smart sales funnel ideas for coaches and consultants. Here’s an awesome blog post I wrote about 5 different sales funnel ideas for consultants.
If you don’t have time to read the above blog post now, don’t fret. You have a nearly-infinite array of options. You could promote a marketing funnel, survey funnel, webinar registration page, your booking calendar, application funnel, bridge page, or a direct registration form for your coaching offer. You could even promote an affiliate offer, your books, courses, products, or anything you wish. (Yes, I’m a huge fan of affiliate marketing and think that any savvy coach could brainstorm a worthy campaign worthy of their audience.)
Don’t Let Your Whale Coaching Clients Slip Through The Net!
As a tiny “one person team” blogger, author, and teacher, I need to seize every opportunity to get targeted CLICKS. Let me give you an example of what I mean.
I remember I was on someone’s email newsletter list once. They wrote frequent emails, but they didn’t sell anything. To my recollection, the emails didn’t even include a call to action! What a wasted opportunity, I thought. Why didn’t they try to sell me something?
I consider every email newsletter without some form of advertisement a wasted opportunity.
Every time you send an email newsletter to your audience, you may get unsubscribes. That potential unsubscriber may have been willing to PURCHASE from you. Now that they’ve unsubscribed, you are bereft of that marvelous (and ever-fleeting) opportunity. Every email newsletter issue is a cherished piece of real estate. Especially if you’re a tiny one-person team who counts every penny! Face it, who doesn’t count every penny these days?
Sending an email newsletter without a call to action is like CNN or Fox News airing their primetime shows without commercials! They would never make that fatal mistake; because they realize that commercials are the best way to monetize their content.
A lot of email marketers worry about offending their email subscribers with advertisements. While that’s a genuine and reasonable concern, it’s also crucial to remember that you need to promote your coaching offers.
So, my email marketing philosophy is simple. Try your best to include awesome content inside every email newsletter issue. However, never forget to plug your coaching offer!
Imagine The Following Coaching Nightmare!
Imagine the following horrific situation. Your prospective coaching client treasures your content, but they have no idea that you offer coaching services. They would love to work with you, but you never invited them. They’re dying for your coaching or consulting services, but you never made them an offer to buy. Never let your audience forget how you can help them!
My Simple Email Marketing Call To Action Strategy For Coaches Or Any Email Marketer
These ideas all allude to the notion that it may be wise to include a tiny banner advertisement, a call to action, or a blatant pitch at the end (or middle) of your email newsletter.
If the cat’s got your tongue and you’re not sure how to include a call to action from an email copywriting perspective, then keep things simple!
I like to include calls to action in plain text format. Somewhere within the email body copy, I include a big paragraph with the entire paragraph as the link/call to action. If you’re on my email newsletter, then you’ve seen this style before! Below is a sample of what my call to action might resemble.
Here are a few email marketing CTA samples:
“If you want to learn how I can help you double your website traffic in 37 days, then click here for a FREE consultation.”

Or maybe something like this:
“If you appreciate this FREE email newsletter, then click here to learn more about how my coaching service has helped 95 entrepreneurs QUADRUPLE their website traffic over the last 37 days.”

Please note that the above statistics are hypothetical examples. Never lie about the results that you can deliver your clients, and never give false claims.
Another option you have is to create a tiny banner that you could include at the end of every email newsletter issue. That banner could point to your coaching signup page, a webinar registration page, a shopping cart, a contact form, or nearly any registration process that your coaching business uses.
But Mike! I Suck At Graphic Design! How Can I Create A Cool Coaching Banner Or Fancy Button For My Email Campaign?
If you suck at graphic design, then don’t stress! These days apps like Canva make it straightforward to design beautiful graphics and small banners perfect for your email newsletter.
Also, check with your favorite email autoresponder to see what options they have for creating beautiful calls to action. These days many email marketing providers help you with a barrage of templates, buttons, and fancy widgets! Regardless, please remember that you’re only limited by your creativity. 🙂
# 3 – How To Choose The Perfect Email Marketing Frequency For Your Coaching Business
How frequently do you wish to write stellar email newsletter content? That’s one of the most critical questions to ask yourself.
Your email newsletter is only as good as your content! So, never sacrifice the quality of your content so you can send newsletters with higher frequency. That’s why it’s critical to know your limitations.
I’m Lazy And I’m Honest With Myself. Are You?
These days, I’m honest with myself. I don’t create that many blog posts compared to when I was younger and more energetic (lol). Therefore, I cut the frequency of my email newsletters down as a result. I only send an email newsletter once per week. Sometimes, I only write an email newsletter every 9/10 days!
So, take inventory of your self-publishing, blogging, newsletter writing, webinar marketing, social media content, video creation, and content marketing habits. How frequently do you create awesome content worthy of sharing with your email newsletter? Be honest!
How frequently can you create helpful tips, tutorials, insights, blog posts, podcast episodes, or videos to share?
What To Do If You Run Out Of Content Ideas For Your Coaching Newsletter Or Email List?
If you’re not sure what type of content to create, then you could probably benefit by studying your ideal end-user. Do you have a crystal clear idea as to the desires of your ideal prospect? What are the topics that your prospective audience loves to hear about and consider? What questions do your students, readers, and clients ask about over and over again? These are the perfect content ideas to create in your email newsletter!
Once you create a big list of content ideas that you can create, ask yourself how frequently you wish to publish new content. This exercise should give you a general idea of your ideal email marketing frequency. I’m lazy and commit to only one email newsletter per week. If you have more fecund creative energy, maybe two (or three) email newsletters per week sound more your speed?
Or, maybe you only wish to commit to only ONE or TWO email newsletter per month? Be honest with yourself and determine how frequently you can write email newsletters that are worthy of publishing and sharing with the world!
Conclusion
I can’t thank you enough for reading this blog. As you can tell, I’m a huge fan of email marketing and try my best to brainstorm my best insights and strategies with you.
I think that email marketing is still one of the smartest ways for coaches to brand themselves in their niche. Email marketing still rocks!
